Down in Bayou Country by Fear359 (f/f, qs, grim?) Two young girls on a 747 from Hollywood Ca. to the bayou's of New Orleans, La. to see the swamps because they have been offered a major part in a movie where two women, are hunted, and trapped in a swamp. Neither one knows the danger of a swamp, all they know is the dollar figures, that keep coming up in their head! Stacey Anderson, and her friend Amber Miller, both in their early 20's, and so much to look forward to, have know idea what they are looking for, but they are about to find it the hard (Soft) way! "Can you believe it Amber, our first big movie part, I can't wait to check out this swamp, and see what's it like in there!" "You and me both, God I can't believe our luck, landing a movie part like this, it's like a dream come true!" "I just hope this guide that we got knows the swamp, as good as he says does!" "Well if he doesn't then I'm sure that we can find another one, I mean what else does anyone have to do down here anyway?" "Come on Amber just because they aren't from Hollywood like us doesn't mean that they are all bad or dumb!" "I know it's just that how could anybody live in a swamp, or even close to one, all those bugs, and snakes, and gators, man just thinking about them gives me the creeps!" "So what are you doing down here with me for anyway?" "I can do this, but I just couldn't live here that's all!" "Hey it looks like we're almost in New Orleans, the plane is starting to decending, so it won't be long now, god this is so exciting, I can't wait for this to start!" "What, this trip into the swamp, or the movie that we will be doing?" "Hell Amber take your pick!" "Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to New Orleans, La. and thank-you for flying with us, we hope that your stay here is a pleasant one!" "Hey Stacey do you know this guy yet?" "No not yet, the letter said that he was 6 foot 5, and has black hair, and you won't be able to miss him!" "Well I don't see him, so I guess that we missed him, No wait, I think I see something, Yep that's got to be him!" "Yep, look at the sign (Stacey, and Amber), God that guy is huge, I think I could feel save with him around!" "Excuse me are you Chuck Allen, the swamp guide?" "Why yes I am miss, and you are Stacey, or Amber?" "I'm Amber, and this is Stacey!" "Well ladies I am very pleased to meet you!" "Excuse me Mr. Allen, Do you think that we could get started on this trek as soon as possible?" "First of all please call me Chuck, and second not a good time to go into da swamp, very hot today, and bad gators come out when hot!" "So Chuck when do you think that we'll take off for the swamp?" "Well maybe morning, maybe next day, don't know yet! Why you come down to bayou country anyway?" "Well Chuck if you must know, we are going to starring in a movie, about two women lost in the swamp, so we thought that we would come down here to check out the real thing, so when we make the movie we will kinda know what we're doing!" "Making movie one thing, going into swamp another thing could be bad thing!" "Why?" "Well Miss Amber, bayou swamp is bad place if one not know where they are going! Besides snakes, spiders, gators, there is endless amount of quicksand, marshes, and thick sucking mud that will not let you go if you get trapped in it!" "You mean to tell me that there is quicksand out there that will grab you, and not let go?" "Yes, and No!" "What the hell is that suppose to mean, Chuck! "Da quicksand does not reach out and grab you, she just sits there, an waits for you to step into it, then she has you!" "She? Why is quicksand called a she?" "Bayou's, and swamps here have history, and all have been about very bad women, and the men that they had killed in the bayou's and swamps so they call them her!" "Well that's interesting, isn't Stacey?" "Yea, it sounds like to me that the women down here, are just as evil as they are anywhere else! Chuck can we please go out today, we have a lot to do, and we don't have a lot of time to get it done in!" "Oh please Chuck, we will be careful, and listen to you, believe me we don't want to die in some god forsaken swamp!" "I don't know not good day to go, but if you must go then I will take you, but you must listen to Chuck, swamp can be friend, or very deadly enemy, your choice!" "Alright, let us get our stuff, and we can leave right away! Chuck can we wear what we have on, or should we change?" "Shorts ok, but bring pants, put on shoes, no sandals, wear long sleeve shirt, you should be good then!" "Alright you're the guide, and know what's best!" As the girls grab their gear, the go to the bathroom to change as Chuck suggested. Amber puts on a bright blue long sleeve shirt, and a pair of white Reebok high tops, Stacey puts on a White long sleeve shirt, and a pair of white Avia high tops, and when they come out of the bathroom Chuck is waiting for them. "AHH good you ready to go I see, we go now, we drive 1 hour to my place, then we leave! I go get car!" "Stacey, this is getting weird don't you think?" "What are you talking about Amber, I think it's kind of cool, we are getting ready to really get into our parts, and when the movies starts, in another month we will know so much that we will be awesome, and, after this movie we will have movie offers left, and right!" "Maybe so but, I didn't think that this swamp trip could be dangerous, but I am willing to go through with it, I'm just a little nervous that's all!" "Come this'll be great, we have a guide, he knows the swamps, and Bayou country here, and he won't let anything happen to us, I think that you have been in California too long, and just need a few days, to get back to nature!" "Well maybe you're right, I have never really been out of a city, and I thought that L.A. was a jungle, but I can see that this will be something that I won't soon forget!" "Amber grab your stuff here comes Chuck with his car." "Ready to go now, I put bags in trunk, then we go." "Chuck your car looks kind of old, do you think that it will make it?::" "Car old yes, but very good car had for 11 years, and only break down once." Once out of the city, Chuck gets on the interstate, and heads south, and the girls watch the houses, and buildings grow smaller, and smaller, until they are turning on a small dirt road, with cypress trees on both sides, and Amber, and Stacey feel like they have just entered the Twilight Zone. "Chuck this is ... is ..." "Miss Stacey, I think the word you look for is strange!" "Well I didn't want to be rude, but yes, that's the word I was looking for, you live way out here?" "Yes!" "Do you have a phone?" "No!" "How about cable to watch TV?" "No, do not have TV!" "My god Chuck what do you do then?" "I have radio, and I have books, so not that bad! Ahh, there is Chucks house over there, down by river bayou." "Stacey, look, at the river, it's like something lost in time, it's beautiful!" "You might change mind when we get in bayou, Amber." "Come on Stacey, now who's got the bad attitude. No it's not that I'm just saying that there is another side to beauty, and the other side is the side that no one wants to see, right Chuck?" "Yes that is true, but da swamp she is very beautiful, and very big. We park here, and you come inside, and leave all you do not need, only bring what you need, and try not to bring a lot, boat not big, and we have to walk a lot, so only bring what you can carry!" "Chuck I don't suppose that I can bring my blow dryer?" "Why you bring this stuff that you know that you will not need, swamp will dry hair in no time, all you need is change of clothes, and first aid kit, no more, no less!" "Ok, just give us a few minutes to get our stuff together, and then we'll be really alright!" "As you say miss Stacey, I go get boat ready, I be back, in 10 minutes." "Amber, I can't believe that you asked if you can take your damn hair dryer!" "Well how was I to know that we were going back in time, to a place that has no electricity?" "Come on lets start repacking, so we can go check this out, I would like to get some exploring done before we have to come back in tonight!" "Well I'm only taking a few pairs of jeans, socks, and my boots, what about you, Amber?" "I think that sounds good, I'll take what you take, that way, we aren't carrying a lot of crap around, I mean just in case Chuck has us hiking around forever, I don't want to be carrying around a ten ton bag!" "Miss Stacey, Miss Amber, da boat she is ready, are you ready?" "Yes Chuck we are ready to go." "Before we go, you must listen to me, and everything that I tell you, when I say jump, you jump. If I say stop you stop. Is that understood?" "Understood Chuck, but you don't have to worry about us we'll listen." "Yea Chuck give us some credit will ya, Stacey, and I want to see the bayou, not become a part of it!" "I just have to be sure that you understand that you are about to enter a world that you know nothing about, and if you don't watch yourself you won't come out alive!" "Chuck we get the idea, and don't worry we won't do anything stupid!" "Alright then lets get going!" "Chuck this is the boat?" "This is the boat! My god It's so small, are we gonna be alright out there in this thing?" "Never had problems before so why should I have some now?" "I don't know it just kind of looks small that's all, I didn't mean to make you mad!" "Not mad Amber, boat good, places we go today, need small boat, anything bigger get stuck in mud, have to get out and pull, and that not good! Now we go Chuck help you both in boat." (As Chucks helps Amber, and Stacey in the boat, he gets in the back, and they are on their way.) "Chuck, my foot is on something that keeps moving around what is it?" "Chuck's gun, may need it don't know, but always good to bring just in case!" "Sounds like a plan to me." "Stacey have you ever seen anything like this before in your life, I mean this place is wonderful, I mean besides all the mud, and dirt, and creatures, it's beautiful!" "Amber you mean to tell me that in California, you do not have dirt, mud, and creatures?" "Well yea we do Chuck is just that well you know?" "No I do not know, or I would not be asking?" "Well what I mean is this place is like something out of the past, and where we live is so modern that's all!" "Well I do not know what this modern thing is you talk about, but to me this is home, this is modern, I would be lost in your world, as you would be lost in mine! This life is simple, day to day, your world is full of death, and destruction, for no reason, my world you kill for one thing, food, nothing else!" "Chuck I didn't mean to hurt your feelings, I was just saying that our worlds are like a 1000 years apart!" "Amber did not hurt Chuck's feeling, why do you two always think you hurt Chuck's feelings? Chuck not hurt easy, Chuck understand that people do not like, or understand this way of life, Chuck also understand that people laugh at his way of life, and make fun of him, but Chuck do not care, because my life is simple, not dog eat dog, like your world, so tell me who's world is better, yours, or mine?" "Chuck are you sure that you aren't a business man, because you sure do sound like one?" "Is that good Miss Stacey?" "Chuck that's very good, you know more about our world than you give yourself credit for, you are very smart, and I can tell by just listening to you that you are a kind and gentle man, and I think that you would be able to make it in our world." "What do you think Amber?" "Well for someone who claims that he would be lost in our world he sure does know a lot about it, and I'm sure that he would make it in any world he went to!" "Chuck thanks you for the kind words. Look over there, see that big branch in the water?" "Yea, we see it, man I would hate to see the tree that it fell from!" "You ladies watch." As Chuck picks up a small piece of wood from the bottom of the boat he throws it at the branch, and that so called branch is a 12 foot alligator. Both girls start screaming, as Chuck just laughs! "What the hell is so funny Chuck, that thing was huge!" "Yea Chuck what's the big idea anyway, if that was suppose to be funny, it wasn't!" "Chuck not trying to be funny, Chuck trying to show you that all things in swamp not what they appear to be, remember that!" "Most big branches in the water, are not branches, so always keep hands, and feet in boat, cuz if gator grabs you, you die, no, if, and's or buts, you just die. Other small branches in water are snakes some harmless, but others are cottonmouths!" "Chuck, what is a cottonmouth!" "She is a very bad snake, mouth all white inside, looks like cotton, that's why she is called cottonmouth, real name water moccasin." "Chuck what else is out here, that is bad?" "Miss Stacey, we have spiders, not kill you, but can make you very sick if not in good health." "There have been bears, and swamp cats seen, a few wild boars, and even a few sightings of Bigfoot!" "Now you are getting a little out there Chuck, there is no such thing as bigfoot, and even it there was how could Bigfoot be seen in California, and then down here, did he hitchhike?" "Many bigfoots, not just one, lots, this one here is very big, called permallfay!" "Chuck can you say that one more time?" "Oh course Miss Amber, the creature's name is Permallfay. It is told that an angry young woman long ago lured a young man into the swamp, and put a curse on him for night returning the love she gave to him, and he was turned into a huge, and hairy creature called permallfay. He is suppose to be out here, in the swamp killing all who enter his domain!" "Do you believe that Chuck?" "Well I have seen things out here, that I cannot explain, but I do not think that Permallfay is evil, and does not kill for no reason. I do believe he is out there, and he only kills when threatened!" "Is there any chance of this Per-Per, huh bigfoot guy coming after us?" "No Miss Amber, I do not think that there chance that he will show himself to us, because we are not going in that part of the swamp!" "Then where are we going Chuck, we want to see as much as we can today, before we have to head back in tonight!" "Who said that we are going back in tonight?" "Well I thought that we would be coming back in as the sun was going down!" "Ladies we will be spending the night in the swamp!" "What you didn't tell us that!" "You never asked, and why would we go in the swamp for half a day then come back, and then turn right around, and go back out the next day? That would be a waste of time don't you think?" "Well I guess you're right Chuck, but is it safe out in the swamp at night?" "Miss Amber there are many shacks out here in the swamp, that we can stay in, it will not be so bad, I do this all the time." "Well you might do this kind of thing all the time, but this is something new for Stacey, and me, and to tell you the truth, I'm kind of scared of the whole thing!" "Come on Amber lighten up will ya, this'll be fun, all we have to do is listen to Chuck, and we're good alright!" "God Stacey, I don't know how I let you talk me into all this stuff, ok Chuck if you say it's safe then I guess that, it'll be okay!" "Good we go about another mile into da bayou, and then we dock boat, and we walk." Both girls are taking taken in by all the sights, and sounds of the bayou, the birds, snakes, gators, the cypress trees with the spanish moss hanging off of them make them look evil, and almost alive. They feel the boat start to turn, and a slight bump, as it hits the bank. "Ladies from here we walk." "Ohh my god my butt is so sore." "Yours and mine both Amber, Chuck how far are we going anyway." "We still have lots of daylight left, and it is up to you how far we go, there is cabin about 1 1/2 up the road, and then another one about 3 miles farther than that. If you want to know as much as you can about the swamp, then we will go slow, but if you only want to know certain things, we can make it to the 4 1/2 mile cabin, and rest there for the night, it is all you to you!" "Well I say lets grab our stuff, and get to that 4 1/2 mile cabin, and rest for the night, and start first thing in the morning." "Okay ladies, let us be on our way. Follow me, and stay on the trail, do not wander off please!" "Hey, no problem!" As Chuck leads the way he begins to tell the girls about what to look for in the swamp, if they get lost always stay on the trails and always walk never run. He shows them where to get clean water, what water to stay away from, never walk a hill to get water because there is almost always soft, clinging mud, that only draws you in deeper, to where you can't get out, and you either sink out of sight, or a gator comes up, and finishes you off. The more he talks the more the girls listen, and they both begin to feel that when they are done with this swamp tour, they will be movie stars after this movie is finished. The 4 1/2 mile trek is over in no time, and they are all standing in front of a little shack. "Ladies here we are, our home for the night." "Chuck this is unreal, you mean to tell me that someone built this shack, and then just left?" "Yes, and No Stacey, swampers build shacks like this all the time, they come to hunt, need a place to stay so they all build shacks here, and there, and they all use each others shack, It is like they are all family, and they share!" "God that's incredible you wouldn't catch anyone in Ca. doing something like that!" "I know that is why we think you world is so strange, you can work together, but you can't help each other out!" "Good point Chuck, so what do we do first?" "First we knock, if no one answers we go in, and do a little cleaning, then I go catch us something to eat, and then I tell you all I know about swamp!" As Chuck, and the girls go up to the door, and knock, there is no answer so Chuck opens up the door, and walks in, with the Stacey, and Amber right on his heels. "Well no one's here, so I guess that we start cleaning, but it will not take that long because it looks like that someone was here a few days ago?" "How can you tell that Chuck?" "Oh that's easy, look at the paper on the floor, it's dated the 15th of this month." "Okay, so where do we start at?" "You both can go into the bedroom, and start in there, and I will go out and get some fire wood, and check to see if the shower has water in it!" "Wait, you said you have to go see if the shower has water in it?" "That's right the shower is outside, and..." "Don't tell me let me guess we have to take a shower outside? With the Bugs, and stuff!" "I know, I know, stop complaining Amber, I'll just go start cleaning out the bedroom, and I won't say another word." "Miss Stacey, is Miss Amber always this-this-You mean is she a little scared rabbit all the time?" "Well not in so many words, but yes!" "No Amber is really not like that at all, she has never been out of a city before, so this is all new to her, and what she knows swamps, and bayou's is what she has seen in movies, or on TV shows." "So she does not really know much about my world!" "Right." "What about you Miss Stacey, are you scared of this world of mine?" "Well I wouldn't say that I'm scared, but I will say that it is something that I thought that I would never see, in my life, and it's not as bad, as I thought it would be underneath all the danger, and mystery, it's very beautiful in the swamp, well I guess that I should go help the little rabbit get this place cleaned up so we can go with you, and do some hunting." "I didn't anything about you two going with me!" "Well don't think that we want to sit around and wait for you to come back, just because we are a couple of city girls, don't think you can play that Tarzan stuff on us!" "We'll talk when you're done in the bedroom, and I have gotten the firewood!" Stacey storms off in a huff because she thinks that Chuck is starting to become a jerk, about this "You listen to me, and live stuff". As she storms into the bed room she tells Amber that if he doesn't take them, then they will go off and do some hunting on their own. "Stacey, maybe Chuck is right we might just slow him down, and I am getting hungry." "Look Amber we didn't come all this way, just to have some guide with a Tarzan size ego, if he won't take us then I say we go off on our own, we won't go far, I mean look the trail is right there, all we have to do is go down the trail, for a little ways, check things out, and then come back before Chuck even knows that we were gone." "Stacey, I don't know, I am not comfortable walking around in a damn swamp to begin with, and now you want me to take off without our guide?" "Oh Amber, Chuck was right you are nothing, but a little scared rabbit!" "I'm a what?" "Hey, I'm just telling you what Chuck thinks about you that's all!" "He said I was scared little rabbit huh?" "Yep!" "Well to hell with that ..." "I see you would go running off as soon as I left, and the trail is clearly marked so you can't get lost, just stay on the trail, and you will be fine." "The end of the trail is about 3/4 of a mile down the road." "Well Tarzan how are we suppose to know when we get to the end of the trail?" "Oh believe me you'll know, but if you must know, and I believe that you do, because women can be so hard headed." "What is that suppose to mean HARD HEADED!" "You will not listen to reason, and will do what you want to do no matter what, Yes, or No Stacey?" "Well, well, Amber maybe you can give me an answer, Yes, or No?" "Well, I'll answer it for the both of you, the answer is yes all women are hard headed, they have to prove that they can do anything, a man can do, but do it better, why? Because women are HARD HEADED! End of discussion, you can go to the end of the trail and no farther! Do I make myself clear!" "Very Clear Mr.!" "Yea Chuck very clear, you go be the great white hunter, and we'll be the lost, and helpless females, is that alright with you?" "You two make it so hard for someone to try, and be nice to you, or even help you, you do what you want to do, if you want to come with me fine, but I will not be walking on the trails, I will be walking around in the dense swamp out there, so if you wanna come let's go!" "Wait why didn't you say that in the beginning, there is no way that I am gonna get off the trail and walk in that swamp, no way, and I know that Amber is gonna do it either!" "No way not me either, Chuck you have fun, and we'll see you when you get back!" "Ahhh Women, I do not understand you, and never will, I will be back in about 2 hours, and please do not go past the end of the trail." "Chuck how do we know when we have gotten to the end of the trail, you never did tell us!" "There is a small foot bridge, well it's not really a bridge, more like a walk way, about 3 or 4 inches over a mud flat area. Cross that bridge, you may not come back, because of Permallfay!" "I thought you said that we wouldn't be going in that far!" "We didn't but Permallfay country is big, so don't cross bridge!" (As the girls watch Chuck go out the door, and down the trail, they wonder if he was telling them the truth, or was he trying to scare them, into staying around the house.) "Hey Stacey, what's the big idea, what if he had said that had to go with him, I thought that you wanted to go off on our own?" "That's why I acted like a total spoiled little bitch, I knew that he would give us a choice, and we would not want to go with him, and he would let us do what we want." "So you see Amber, it doesn't matter where you go, guys all over the world are totally stupid when it comes to women!" "I guess you're right, but I don't I really do think that Chuck is trying to look out for us!" "Oh come on Amber!" "He sees us as two girls from the city that need him, nothing more, so get that through your head!" "Well maybe you're right, so when do you want to take off?" "Well I say we give him another 10 to 15 minutes, and then we take off!" "Well if we're gonna wait for a few minutes, then I'm gonna go put some pants on, I don't know if they have poison ivy, or poison oak, around here, but I don't want to find out the hard way!" "That's a good idea Amber, I didn't even think about that!" "Hey 10 minutes is up, lets go!" "Right behind you Stacey, lets see what the end of the trail looks like, and maybe even check out the other side, what do you think Amber?" "Sounds good to me, a scared little rabbit my ass!" As the girls walk down the trail they see spiders in the trees, they see a few gators sunning themselves on the banks of the swamp, and the end of the trail is about 20 yards up the trail. "Well Amber there it is so what do you want to do? Do you want to cross it or turn around and go back?" "Stacey that's a hard one to answer, can I think about it for a minute?" "Sure take your time!" Amber's answer is quick, and hard, as she pushes Stacey down, and takes off across the bridge. "Amber what the hell are you doing?" "I'm gonna go check out the other side, what are you a scared little rabbit?" And with that Amber is across the bridge, and is on the other side. "Come on slow poke what are you waiting for?" "Amber are you crazy or what? Chuck said not to cross!" "What's the matter Stacey? Now who's the scared little rabbit!" And with that Amber take off running down the barely visible trail, and disappears from Stacey's view. "Damn you Amber, this ain't even funny, don't you know that this is crazy? Amber do you hear me? Christ, I don't want to do this, but if she gets into any trouble there won't be anyone there to help her, so I might as well get this over with, but Amber when I catch up to you, oh your ass is mine!" Stacey crosses the small bridge, and gets to the other side, and tries to figure out where Amber has gone too, which from the looks of it she took off running at a full stride, and finding her could be hard because Amber was into running 4 or 5 miles days a day. "Amber come on this isn't funny anymore, you could get into trouble out here, remember what Chuck said!" "Come on Stacey, where's you sense of adventure at? Don't tell me, that you're getting cold feet! Ha ha ha!" "Come on Amber this is crazy and-" "Why don't you come and find me, if you've got the guts!" "That's it Amber. When I catch you, I'm gonna kick your ass for this! "Stacey you have to catch me first!" Stacey looks around the dense and thick swamp, and starts walking the way that Amber went, and the high grass on both sides of the trail make her nervous, "Could there be snakes in there?" Then she hears a branch snap, and then she remembers where they both are, Permallfay country, and with that she takes off running full speed. "Amber there is something in here with us we have got to get out of here now! Amber, I'm not kidding there is something following us come on we have got to get back now." "Hey Stacey, there is a fork in the road up here try and guess which one I'm gonna take, and catch me!" "Amber come on this isn't funny, alright you win you aren't a scared little rabbit, you've got guts, and I'm a scared rabbit, now please come back!" "No, not until you catch up to me then we'll go back." As Stacey comes up to the fork in the road, she looks down, and tries to find Amber's foot prints, but what she finds is nothing, Amber has covered her tracks, and now Stacey has no way of knowing which way she went. "Oh god which way left, or right? If I were Amber which way would I go? Left it is then, Oh Amber you are really starting to piss me off!" As Stacey starts to walk down the trail she starts to notice that the trail is starting to get soft, she was so busy trying to find Amber that she had walked onto a trail with some very high reeds on both sides, and the ground was starting to pull her sneakers in with each step. "Oh shit, I could be walking into a trap, better get closer to the edge by the reeds, it looks a lot safer over by them!" Stacey makes her way over to the reeds, and looks right, and off in the distance, on the other trail she can see Amber just sitting there on a tree stump, waiting for her. "Well that little bitch, well I'm gonna scare to crap out of her, I'll just go through these weeds, and when I get close enough to her I'll throw, a branch up by her she'll think it's a snake, and run out of here like crazy." So Stacey begins to make her way through the reeds. "So far so good, the ground here is solid, and she has no idea where I am, and will she be surprised when I jump come jumping out, and scaring the crap out of her. Another 10 feet, and I have her. Man this is hard work, now I'm glad that we didn't go with Chuck, it had to go through a lot of this stuff this is really hard work." Just in front of Stacey the reeds opened up for about 6 feet, and without even thinking it, she just stepped forward, and her right foot sank up to the top of her tennis shoe, and because of her forward motion her left foot followed the right, and now she was trapped. "Hey! What the hell ... Ah, shit! Quicksand. The quicksand, she has me! Amber, help me! I'm trapped in quicksand! You've got to help me, please!" "Oh, I'm not gonna fall for that Stacey, you can do better than that. There is no quicksand on the trail!" "Damn you Amber! I'm not on the trail. I am over to your right, in the reeds. Please god, help me!" As Stacey struggles she finds out why they call her quicksand, because the more that she struggles, the more the mud and slime grab hold of her, it's like this stuff was truly alive, and didn't want to give anything up, that happens to fall into her. Stacey tries to pump her legs, as quick, and as hard as she can, but all that does, is drive her down deeper. The more she struggles the more the quicksand pulls her in. Now she is up to her waist, and she can't move her legs anymore. "Amber! For the love of god, please help me! I'm up to my waist, and I can't move my legs anymore! This stuff is pulling me in please help!" "Stacey, I swear to god if this is a joke, I will never forgive you." Amber starts to walk towards the reeds, and she looks down the hill she was about to go down, and she see's some moving branches in the reeds, as she gets a closer look she can see them moving. "Snakes, Stacey, there are snakes down on my side, so I am gonna have to walk around. Which way, I won't tell you, because I don't want you to try and scare me!" "For Christ sakes, Amber, hurry up!" Stacey, has struggled to the point where she is now chest deep, and in trying to pull her legs out, she put her arms in, and now they are trapped as well. "Amber, come on, hurry up! I'm sinking fast, and I'm not playing around. Amber!" Amber is making her way around a few cypress trees, and when she comes out from behind them, then sees that Stacey wasn't playing a game, she is indeed trapped in quicksand, and is up to her chest. "Ah, Christ, Stacey! I thought that you were playing! Hold on, try not to move, okay?" "Hell, Amber! I can't move at all! This stuff is as thick as glue, and just as sticky! Help me!" "Hang on! I can't get to you from this side, I'm gonna have to go around, and try to come the way you did!" "Amber, just hurry! I can't hold out much longer!" As Amber makes her way over behind Stacey, she sees Stacey's foot prints, and follows them until see comes up to the clearing where her friend is slowly sinking to her death. "Stacey, hold on! I'm right behind you, and I am gonna try and grab you, and pull you out. You just have to hold still alright!" "Damnit, Amber! I can't move at all so being still is no problem. The problem is I am still sinking!" "Hang on, I am gonna move to your left, and grab you. It's a little closer to you, and there are reeds that I can hold on too, and grab you at the same time. God this stuff is holding me down, it's trying to suck my shoes right off my feet!" "Amber, be careful! If you fall in-" "Don't worry. I don't plan on falling in, now just hang on!" As Amber moves to Stacey's left, the mud releases her right foot, and when she puts it down again, she slips in the slick mud and skids forward, and she watches in horror as her once white Reeboks are swallowed by the thick, and deep mud. "Shit, shit, shit, NO!" "Amber, what is it?" "I slipped in a slick spot of mud, and I'm stuck up to my ankles!" "Amber, don't struggle! It will only make matters worse!" Too late, Amber has panicked, and is pumping her legs, as hard as she can, but all the running in the world, and all the muscles in her legs cannot help her, and the more she struggles, the more she sinks, and when the quicksand claims hold of her legs, she knew that she was in deep trouble. "Stacey! I can't get out! Oh God, I can't get out! I'm sinking!" "I tried to tell you, but you wouldn't listen! Now we're both trapped!" "I thought that you were playing, and that's why I didn't hurry! If I would have known that you were really trapped in quicksand I would have been here on the double!" Stacey is up to her neck, and the quicksand is in no hurry now, she knows that she has this, and it will only be a matter of minutes until she has the other one too. Amber refuses to give up. She puts both hands on her right leg, and pulls as hard, as she can, but to no avail, it seems the harder she pulls, the deeper she sinks, so once again she tries to pump her legs, but the more she pumps them the softer the quicksand gets, and the deeper she goes. "Chuck! Please, god! Chuck! Help us! We're trapped in quicksand, and we can't get out! Please Chuck for the love of God! HELP!" "Amber, forget it! He went to other way, remember? And he said that he would be back for 2 hours!" "God, Stacey! In two hours we'll be gone under this stuff. God it's so strong, it's like wet cement, and glue, all rolled into one. There's no way out of it. Stacey, I'm so sorry! If I hadn't been so stupid, we wouldn't be in this stuff sinking to our deaths!" "Amber, it's too late for apologies now. I don't think I'm gonna make-" Amber hears her friend slip underneath the quicksand, and she screams at the top of her lungs, knowing that in just a matter of time she will be joining her friend. They both thought that a trip into the bayou's and swamp, would make them a better actress, and that the movie would make them both stars, but little did them know that they would be living the horrors on the swamps, and really sink in the deadly ever clinging quicksand, as the quicksand takes Amber to her chest, and then to her neck, she remembers seeing Stacey tilting her head back, hoping that Chuck would come to save them.
